What Is The Visibility Game?

November 04, 20253 min read

If you’re running a service-based business, you’ve probably realized something: being great at what you do isn’t enough. You have to be seen.

This is what I like to call "the visibility game" aka marketing your business.

Its how easily the right people can find, understand, and trust you. Its the process of showing up, being seen, and connecting with the audience that matters most.

How Do I Play?

Like any game, it starts with understanding the playing field. Your website, your social channels, your emails, and even your networking opportunities ... these are your arenas.

Each one has its own strengths, but they all work together toward one goal: visibility.

When your online presence is aligned, consistent, and intentional, people start to recognize and remember your name before they even need your service.

  • Who are your ideal customers?

  • Where are they looking for your services?

  • What do they do in their free time when they are not looking for your services?

  • How can you show up for them when they need you most?

These are all great questions to ask yourself to win the visibility game.

The Simple Rules That Get You Seen

Winning the visibility game isn’t about being everywhere — it’s about being strategic. You don’t need to chase trends or post 24/7. You just need a plan that connects your message with the right audience.

A video with 100 views from ideal customers is 10000% better than a video with 1M views from customers who might not have an interest in what you do.

  • Be discoverable: Use SEO and optimized content so the right clients can find you.

  • Be valuable: Share insights and advice that showcase your expertise.

  • Be memorable: Build relationships and consistency that make people trust you.

  • Post Consistently: Showing up for your own business shows you will show up for them.

Every action you take builds your visibility score. That might sound funny, but it’s true. Likes, clicks, engagement, and conversions are simply ways to keep track of how well you’re playing the game.

It's Supposed to be Fun...

The reason I absolutely love to call it a "game" is because this is supposed to be fun. You are running your own business because you wanted out of the corporate grind, the 9-5, and the not being able to take days off (or get sick) without being punished.

And I know, finding clients can feel so frustrating. You're always looking, wondering if what you are doing is right, getting burnt out from spinning your wheels, not sure what direction you are supposed to take when finding new clients.

Trust me, you are being too hard on yourself....

Winning Without Losing Yourself

Here’s the best part: the Visibility Game isn’t about chasing numbers or outshining competitors. It’s about creating a presence that feels true to you.

When your marketing is authentic, simple, and fun, it attracts the kind of clients you actually want to work with — the ones who align with your values, appreciate your expertise, and keep coming back.

Marketing doesn’t have to drain you. When you understand how the game works, it becomes empowering. You start playing on purpose instead of reacting to algorithms or trends.

The Game Never Ends (And That’s a Good Thing)

Visibility isn’t a one-time campaign — it’s a continuous game of connection, creativity, and refinement. You try new strategies, learn what works, and keep improving. The longer you play, the better you get.

So if you’ve been feeling invisible, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, make marketing fun again, take back control of your growth, and start showing up for your business like it deserves.

Because the truth is — business is the biggest game you’ll ever play.
And visibility? That’s how you win.
